Status Acquired by eSportz

The rise and fall of Cyberoad lead to the creation of international betting brand Bodog.

History

Cyberoad was established in 1997. By 1998 their betting software was used to launch multiple online sportsbooks including Mayan Sports, Grand Prix Sports, and The Big Book. Cyberoad's partnership with eBanx allowed them to provide customers with credit card deposits and e-check withdrawals. These payment methods were seen as highly convenient in an industry primarily operating with cash agents and Western Union. Cyberoad purchased eBanx on November 29, 1999.[1]

After raising money with hopes of going public, Cyberoad closed in 2000. It's assets were acquired by El Moro Finances who allocated betting software distribution and responsibilities to subsidiary eSportz.
